Honey Badger  vs   Wolverine

This fight features two of our readers favorite combatants, the Honey Badger from South Africa and the Wolverine of North America. Both of these animals have fearless reputations and have been known to fight off much bigger predators from their prey. Let's take a closer look to see just how a fight between these little warriors would turn out.

Tale of the Tape:

The Wolverine is the largest of the weasle family but resembles and acts like a small Bear. It is stocky muscular and ferocious. Male wolverines can weigh up to 70 lbs and reach a length of 3 ft. The Wolverine has been known to attack prey many times its size, with documented accounts of predation of moose. The wolverine has large teeth and a bite force that enables it to crush bones and frozen carcasses.

The Honey Badger, despite its name, biologically is more closely related to a Wolverine than badger species. Like the Wolverine, the ratel is notorious for its ferocity and fearless nature, even being able to scare lions and leopards away from their kills. The Honey badger has been deemed by the guiness book of world records as the most fearless animal on the planet. It is stocky but quick and has thick but loose skin that provides protection from attack.

The Fight

A 30 lb honey badger locks in on the scent of a large mammal carcass near by and quickly scampers towards it. Approaching the carcass, the honey badger learns that he is not first to the kill as a 50 lb wolverine has already started to dig in.  The fearless honey badger still has his eye on the prize and darts at the wolverine to scare it off. However, the wolverine is extremely aggressive when provoked and the fight ensues between the two stubborn animals. The speed of the honey badger allows it to get in close and smack the wolverine with its 3 in claws, drawing first blood. The honey badger takes a bite at the wolverine but finds its fur too thick to inflict much damage. The wolverine counter attacks with a bite to the neck of the honey badger, however only catching some of its thick skin. This allows the badger to turn back around and take another shot at the wolverine. The wolverine uses this opportunity to take another bite of his own, this time to the leg of the honey badger. It crushes the smaller animals bones with its powerful jaw before finishing it with a claw to the underbelly.

Everyone has an opinion about if they love a dog or a cat more.  What I am trying to do here is settle once and for all which one would win in a fight to the death by two of the more well known individuals in these families.

The Bobcat is a North American cat that usually huts for insects and small deer for food.  Bobcats are very territorial animals.  They commonly mark their borders with claw marks and soil deposits.   There are specifically twelve subspecies of Bobcats.  All range throughout North America into Mexico.  Our Bobcat has been in the woods its whole life and has recently acquired rabies.  This viral disease causes inflammation in the brain which does nothing but to piss it off that much more. 

We first need to start out by specifically saying this is an American Pit Bull Terrier.  Pit Bull Terriers are medium sized dogs with short smooth coats.  They are very muscular and have gotten a bad reputation for their aggression issues.  Although this is only an issue for mistreated dogs in most cases pit bulls are know as dogs who will bit and are too stubborn to let go of their prey no matter what.  The pit bull in this case just so happens to be one of Michael Vick's former pets.  We all know how much he pissed those animals off.  So not only is this one mean son of a bitch (ha literally) but he's pissed off that Vick made millions of dollars and treated him like shit for so long. 

Needless to say we have a fight here of two pissed off combatants!

The battle itself wouldn't really be all that eventful, but I'll try and break it down for you.  The bobcat would start out with an early lead keeping its distance from the pit bull and getting some pretty wicket attacks in with its claws.  These attacks only go to piss off Mike's dog that much more.  After a few minutes of this cat and mouse game the pit bull is able to latch onto one of the bobcats legs.  In typical pit bull fashion it refuses to let go.  Although the bobcat continues to rake at the pit bulls eyes it simply can't get away.  After about five minutes of this both animals are sufficiently mutilated.  Then the pit bull makes its move to get a better hold on the bobcat.   Although it can't see because of all the blood in its eyes it doesn't really matter because the bobcat can't get away with a practically ripped off leg.  A nice hold later and the pit bull has a firm grasp around the bobcats neck. 

A short while later the fight is over.  The bobcat is limp.  Despite this the pit bull continues to hold on and shake the lifeless animal around for another good five minutes.

No We Aren't Talking About This Type Of Bobcat!

One very frequently requested fight on Wild Animal Fight Club is the Cougar vs American Black Bear fight. The American Cougar has a wide range of habitats, from northern Canada's wilderness to the Andes of South America. The Cougar is actually rather small, about 2 feet tall and eight feed long and weighing between 115 and 200 pounds. Cougars are also unusual for being one of the only big cats unable to roar. In reality cougars are more like a very large and aggressive housecat, mostly communicating through growls, purrs, and hissing. They are also very adept jumpers and have the largest hind legs proportionally of any cat.

In the other corner we have the Black Bear, which is about 2.5-3 feet tall at the shoulder and six feet long. However, they are much larger and bulkier than their competitor, weighing over 550 pounds (300+ kg). However, they are actually rather timid and often try to avoid conflict with other predators. In the areas where Black Bears and Cougars share territory conflicts are common and bears will often try to steal a cougar's kill if it can. The conflict is rarely violent though because of the power of both animals.

In an actual fight, the cougar would use its small size and great agility to stay away from the black bear. The black bear's powerful long claws and immense strength is an immediate game over for any cougar foolish enough to come head on at a black bear. A cougar would remain at a distance and attempt to leap past a black bear to come up behind it or land on top of its back. Staying away from the black bear's mouth and massive reach is the cougar's only chance. The black bear has so much insulating fat and hide however, that any cougar that attempts to attack it would be shook away until the black bear can capitalize on the cougar's desperation and catch it in its paws or jaws. The black bear would then break its neck with one bite, the end for that cougar.

Siberian Tiger                   vs                     Grizzly Bear

This is by far the most requested fight in WAFC history and features arguably the two most lethal big predators on the planet.

The Siberian Tiger is the largest Big Cat on Earth, growing up to 11 ft long and up to 850 lbs. It preys on huge animals such as deer, boar, and Elk. Siberian Tigers have even been known to prey on Brown bear species in Asia. Although this cat is big it still has incredible quickness. It's preferred method of killing is, like most big cats, a bite to the throat of its victim. 

The Grizzly Bear has incredible strength, as mentioned in previous fights on WAFC. It also has a size advantage,growing up to and beyond 1000lbs. The largest Grizzlies can stand up to 8 ft tall. 

Its tough for me to choose a victor here out of two of my favorite predators. I think the fight would go pretty quick once the two beasts got into it.

The tiger would most likely be first to act trying to pounce at the Bear's throat. The Bear could counter with a downward swat, as it is known to do, that could crush the cat's skull. 

However I think more often than not the Tiger would win this fight. With its size and speed, the momentum of a dash and pounce would be enough to knock the bear backwards before a blow to the neck kills it.

                         Jaguar              vs              Leopard

Recently this has been the most requested wild animal fight. This is most likey due to the fact that these animals share such a close resemblance to each other. The two animals can be distinguished by their rosettes: the rosettes on a jaguar's coat are larger, fewer in number, usually darker, and have thicker lines and small spots in the middle that the leopard lacks. Leopards are usually longer, while the Jaguar is stockier. Jaguars also have rounder heads and shorter, stockier limbs compared to leopards.

The Leopard is an agile predator that lives in sub-Saharan Africa. It can ambush large prey such as Eland but mostly dines on smaller prey items like baboons. Their killing style is similiar to other large cats usually looking to attack the throat of its victims. Leopards are adept at climbing trees, although not as much so as the Jaguar.

The Jaguar is the apex predator of South America. It lives in and out of the Jungle and kills prey weighing up to 800lbs. Pound for Pound the Jaguar is the strongest of all the Big Cats. It can drag prey many times its weight into trees to eat. They have developed jaws that are much stronger than the other big cats and employ a unique killing technique, it bites directly through the skull of prey between the ears to deliver a fatal blow to the brain.

Although the Leopard is a formidable opponent, the Jaguar is just too strong and will win this fight everytime!

Interesting animal fight between two very different animals of similiar size from different ends of the world.

The Wolverine is the largest of the weasle family but resembles and acts like a small Bear. It is stocky muscular and ferocious. Male Wolverines can weigh up to 70 lbs and reach a length of 3 ft. The Wolverine has been known to attack prey many times its size. 

Olive Baboons can be as tall as 4 ft and weight close to 65 lbs. When provoked, hungry or defending their young they can be extremely aggressive. Baboons hunt smaller prey on normal conditions, but they are strong, quick, and nasty. The Baboon's canine teeth grow as long as 2.5 inches (longer than a Lion's).

The Baboon is bigger and much more agile. However, the Wolverine does not lose many confrontations and has been witnessed scaring off Wolves and even Bears from their kill. In this fight its relentless attacking will be a huge factor and it will eventually tear into the monkey

There have been many requests for more Lion fights. Lets see if the "King" can win this one.

An adult male Lion can grow to be 10 ft long and weigh over 500 lbs. Lions primarily prey on large animals such as Wildebeasts and Water Buffalo, however hunting is usually done in a pack. Lions have more stamina than most large cats and usually kills its prey with a targeted bite at or near the throat and then holding on until its victim dies. The lion's mane provides protection for its own neck.

American Black Bears are on average smaller and less aggressive than Grizzlies. They can reach a length of 7 ft and weight of 750 lbs. These animals are incredible strong and have been known to become enraged killing beasts when hungry or provoked.

This is one of the most evenly matched fights on this site. The lion's speed may help it to get an early advantage in this fight. However, a full sized black bear's superior strength will help it prevail in this fight. In short, as the lion attempts to get inside on the bear to deliver a fatal bite, the black bear will swat lion down with a crushing blow before pouncing on the lion to finish the job.

Black Bear Wins

A great suggestion from many readers, this fight pits two of the coolest animals on Earth in battle.

The American alligator normally grows up to 12-15 ft and weigh over 1000 lbs. The Alligator has been known to take down prey as large as a Black Bear. It has the strongest bite force of any animal on Earth and is the apex predator of its habitat.

The biggest Komodo Dragons can grow up to 12 ft and weigh in at 250 lbs. Found only in remote islands of Indonesia, the dragon takes down prey up to 10 times its size, including water buffalo. The Komodo Dragon has no fear of any animal and its saliva contains a deadly mix of bacteria.

This animal fight might well come down to who gets the first bite. If the gator were able to get a clean shot at the dragon, it could snap it in half. However, it says here that the Komodo Dragon will get the first bite 9 out of 10 times, on land or in the water, letting its "venom" kill the alligator and then devouring every bit of it.
